Emergency First Aid at Work Training.

Who is the course for?
Emergency First Aid at Work training enables a first aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.

Course Outline
• Aims of First Aid and Dealing with an Emergency
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); Adult, child and baby
• Recognition and treatment of regurgitation. Use of face shields.
• Choking; Adult, child and baby
• The Unconscious Patient
• Blood Loss and Shock
• Treatment of Bleeding and Minor Injuries
• Burns and Scalds
• Incident Recording

On successful completion of the course you will receive the Nationally recognised Qualsafe Certificate and ID card.

Makaton Beginners Course - Two Day, certified by The Makaton Charity.

The two day Beginner course is ideal for anyone wanting an introduction to Makaton and takes you through to signing at sentence level within two days.  You will learn everything you would need to know to communicate most frequently used and most needed signs for everyday communication to take place. 

We use a very comprehensive, inclusive, informal training style, remaining aware of everyones skills and confidence when learning.  We use a lot of hands on practical sessions as well as short lectures to ensure you leave the course fully confident you understand everything such as why we use Makaton and not other sign systems, or topics likes how to take away what you have learnt and strategies of how to put that into practice.

Makaton is not only for people who may have communication difficulties or learning difficulties but for mainstream children, up to adulthood.  It is never to late to learn or teach this effective communication system.  It can also be used to benefit members of the community who have other needs such as people suffering from a stroke or people who use additional languages.  In essence Makaton is an effective, widely used language which enables people to bridge the gap between people who just use spoken word and those who need a more creative form of communication.

No previous experience necessary, come along and be amazed with how much you learn and how easy this is to pick up.
