Attik is in an exciting and dynamic place, empowered by the experience of its employees and its reputation as a resourceful, relevant and creative organisation. With the development of our training offer, we aim to ensure quality of practice and to provide training for new and existing dance artists and act as a resource for dancers in the southwest and beyond.

Graduate Training Company

2009 saw the launch of Fast Forward Dance, Attik Dance’s new graduate training company. Fast Forward Dance was set up by Attik Dance to address the issue of a lack of transitory opportunities for students leaving HE training and progressing into work. The company consisted of 6 dance graduates from the South West and beyond. The company worked with Sally Robbins, Attik Dances Artistic Director to create a performance and education package that was toured and delivered throughout the South West of England.

Fast Forward Dance was open to new graduates (graduating within the last 4 years) and they had 10 weeks packed full of teaching in schools and colleges, attending local and international conferences, taking part in workshops with CandoCo and C-Scape, performing around the region and performing underwater in the aquarium!

During these 10 weeks we were able to achieve some swanky statistics;
• FFD delivered 72 workshops in schools, colleges and community settings.
• 1200 people attended workshops with FFD aged 4 - 84
• FFD had 40 performances in schools, colleges, theatres and unusual spaces.
• 1699 people watched FFD perform.
• 392 Dancers, Dance Teachers, Dance practitioners and students took part in classes, CPD and training events ran by Attik Dance and FFD.

We will be running the next graduate training company during 2011/12 and hope to extend this opportunity to 12 months. If you would like more information about Fast Forward Dance please email (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or sign up for our newsletter.
